Värmeforsk's Ash Program

Värmeforsk (the Swedish Thermal Engineering Research Association) has an ongoing research program regarding ash utilisation. Since 2002 more than 130 projects have been supported by a budget of over 10 million €. The Swedish Energy Agency has been the main financer of the program Financial support has also been provided by more than 40 different companies and authorities during the period 2002-2011.The focus of the conference is the use of ashes from combustion of biomass fuels (wood chips, energy crops and residues from sawmills, food industry, agriculture, etc.) peat and various waste streams such as recycled wood, municipal waste and industrialwaste. Ashes from the co-combustion with coal, where coal accounts for a smaller propotion oft he fuel can also be included in the conference.
